First Impressions of the Voice Caddie SC200

You simply power it on, place it 4–5 feet behind your hitting area, pick your club using the remote, and start swinging. That’s it. No app required, no calibration, no headaches.

It has a bright, easy-to-read LCD screen that shows carry distance, swing speed, ball speed, and smash factor. And like the SC300i, it has a voice feedback feature that announces carry distance after every shot — which I’ve found surprisingly convenient.

Battery life is solid as it runs on AAA batteries (I think the SC300i still has the longest battery life of all time). It’s the kind of launch monitor you can just leave in your bag and forget about until you need it which is why I always keep it in my backpack.

Performance & Accuracy of the SC200 Plus

For its price, the SC200 Plus is shockingly accurate outdoors. Carry distance and swing speed numbers have always been within a couple yards or mph of what I’d expect.

It doesn’t have the advanced sensors or app-based spin estimates of the SC300i, but it nails the basics. 

Indoors into a net, it still performs pretty well as long as there’s some ball flight. If you’re not obsessed with spin rates or launch angle, and you just want to know how far you hit your clubs, it’s plenty good enough.

Like all personal launch monitors, there are pros and cons. But for the price, it’s hard to beat this handheld device.
